# $DPUNK tokenomics

DePunks Club on Ethereum mainnet. Tokens are bound to NFTs: every DePunk
carries a redeemable claim on escrow — 20,000 $DPUNK for a base model, a
rarity-derived amount once upgraded — and a Bot promoted to a Worker does
paid work that returns fees to holders.

## Vocabulary

Use these words exactly; two of them are easy to confuse.

- **DePunk** — The NFT you buy. Tiers: Base model, Upgraded, Alpha (x2 multiplier, closed) and Agent, which is a promoted Alpha.
- **Bot** — A second, separate NFT that a DePunk reveals — not the DePunk itself. States: Sealed ticket, Revealed, Worker.
- **Worker** — A Bot that has been promoted and is earning. An earning Bot is a Worker, never an "agent": Agent is a DePunk tier, not a job, and an Agent never becomes a Worker.

## The two ladders

A DePunk and a Bot are different NFTs on different ladders. Nothing on the
DePunk ladder turns into anything on the Bot ladder.

```
DePunk:  Base model -> Upgraded -> Alpha (closed) -> Agent
Bot:     Sealed ticket -> Revealed -> Worker
```

Getting a Bot is its own path, and it is the only path to earning:

1. **Ticket** — 1,553 of the 3,500 are allowlist-guaranteed;
   the other 1,947 are left to mint at 0.01 ETH. More info soon.
2. **Reveal** — 0 ETH, pairs one upgraded DePunk to the ticket by VRF. The
   punk is only the reveal key: nothing locks, and it stays free to sell
   or deposit. A revealed Bot earns nothing: it has a body, not a job.
3. **Promote** — pay 99,000 $DPUNK to activate the Bot against any
   revealed DePunk — not just its reveal partner — and it becomes a Worker.
   Only now does it do paid work and return fees. The fee is per
   activation, not per Bot — a sold Bot's next holder pays it again to
   put it back to work.

## Prices

- Base DePunk from the vault: 22,000 $DPUNK all in — 20,000 plus the 10% fee, in queue order
- Skipping the queue for a specific punk: 15% instead of 10%
- Upgrading a base DePunk: free
- Bot ticket: 1,553 of 3,500 allowlist-guaranteed; the other 1,947 mint at 0.01 ETH — more info soon
- Revealing a Bot: 0 ETH; the upgraded punk it pairs with stays unlocked
- Activating a Bot into a Worker: 99,000 $DPUNK per activation, split 60% Workers / 30% burned / 10% team
- Wallet scan: $0.20 · whitelist creation: $20 · whitelist application: $0.02

The vault is 2,000 punks set aside by one large holder, not the whole
base supply. It closes when it sells out.

A base DePunk is not an empty shell. Escrow reserves 20,000 $DPUNK against
every one of them, and depositing the punk back to escrow is how you
collect it. Already hold a base punk? You already hold that claim; there
is nothing to buy. The vault only matters if you do not have one yet.

Two amounts of 20,000 are in play here and they are not the same one:

- The 20,000 you pay at the vault goes to the holder who supplied the
  inventory. That is circulating supply changing hands, not a deposit
  into escrow.
- The 20,000 escrow holds against the punk never moves, and belongs to
  whoever holds the punk.

So a vault buy hands over 20,000 and returns an item carrying a 20,000
claim: a trade at par, with the 10% fee as the only premium.

## What an upgrade is worth

Upgrading does not create a punk's first tokens — it rerolls the 20,000 a
base already carries into an amount derived from the traits chosen and how
rare the result is. The reroll is free, the floor is about 59,000, and the
number only ever goes up from 20,000.

```
65,000 x type x headwear x trait-count x (uniqueness / 100)
```

- Base rate: 65,000
- Alpha (x2, closed): 130,000
- Zombie: ~500,000
- Alien (top): 2,400,000

The formula is public and runs at upgrade time. Nothing is pre-assigned.

Two averages get quoted and they measure different things. A fresh upgrade
now averages about 75,000, because most of the rare combinations
are already taken. The collection-wide average per upgrade is far higher,
carried by the early rolls that caught them.

## The three states a DePunk holds tokens in

- **Hold** — the punk carries its tokens. Selling it transfers them too.
- **Linked** — paired to one Bot at reveal. The link is for the reveal
  alone: nothing locks, and the punk keeps its claim and stays free to
  sell or deposit. A revealed Bot pays nothing until 99,000 $DPUNK
  activates it as a Worker — against this punk or any other revealed one —
  and then its fees go to the holder of the punk it works against.
- **Unbound** — you deposited the punk back to escrow and took its tokens,
  so the punk left your wallet. Anyone can buy it back out of escrow by
  paying its amount plus 10%.

One rule holds it together: you never hold both the punk and its tokens.
Every token in circulation is backed by a punk somebody can redeem.

## Supply

699,000,000 minted once, never again.

- Escrow: 600,000,000 — backs the tokens inside every punk, base and upgraded
- Trading pool: 99,000,000 — Uniswap v4, locked permanently, no withdraw function
- Team: 0 — no allocation, no vesting, nothing to unlock

Escrow is not only future rolls. Every base punk already carries 20,000,
so that share is committed before anyone upgrades anything; upgrading then
draws only the difference between the roll and what the punk already held.

Committed today: 366,970,460 of the 600,000,000 — 244,990,460
inside upgraded punks and 121,980,000 inside base ones, leaving
233,029,540 unallocated.

Zero is the token allocation, not the team's income: read it together
with the split below, where the team takes 10% of fees and all of the mint
and royalty revenue.

## Who gets paid

Vault fees, trading fees and platform revenue all split 60% Workers / 30% burned / 10% team.
Mints and royalties are 100% team and pay for development and audits.
Platform revenue is settled weekly.

The Worker activation fee recurs. Sell the Bot and its next holder pays
the same 99,000 $DPUNK, on the same split, to activate it against any
revealed punk they hold. Every Bot that changes hands and goes back to
work pulls tokens out of the market again, on top of the service revenue.

Platform revenue is outside money: collections paying for wallet scans and
whitelist checks. One launch scanning 1,000-3,000 wallets at $0.20 is
$200-600. The yield does not depend on the next buyer.

## Whitelists, and why a holder cares

agents4fun runs paid, on-chain allowlists. A creator opens a whitelist for
$20, people apply at $0.02 a ticket, and winners are drawn with Chainlink
VRF. The seed is published on-chain and the draw is deterministic from it,
so anyone can recompute the result and check it.

What the end user gets out of it:

- **The wallet is the application.** Holdings, wallet age and post-mint
  behaviour are already on-chain and scored 0-100. No forms, no Discord
  grinding, no follow-for-follow.
- **Creators gate on that score.** A whitelist can require a minimum score
  to enter at all, so a wallet with real history gets into draws a fresh
  wallet cannot. The score is attested per application, not self-reported.
- **Entry is cheap and the odds are honest.** A ticket is $0.02 and every
  entry carries the same weight; winners come out of a partial shuffle over
  the tickets, so many tickets never mean many wins.
- **Behaviour compounds.** Value held over time in recognised collections
  raises the score; selling inside 14 days lowers it. The same score decides
  the next draw.

This is where the Workers earn: scanning wallets and checking whitelist
eligibility is the paid work, and those fees are what flow back to holders.
A DePunk holder is on both sides — better score, better draws, and a cut of
the fees the platform charges for running them.

## The collection right now

Read from depunks.club at 2026-09-05T22:24:24.000Z. These move; re-read rather than caching them.

- Upgraded: 2,228
- Still base: 6,099
- Collection: 8,327 punks in total
- Alpha: 315
- Agents: 221
- $DPUNK already inside upgraded punks: 244,990,460
- $DPUNK already inside base punks: 121,980,000
- $DPUNK bound in punks altogether: 366,970,460
- Average per upgrade: 109,960 across the whole collection, against about 75,000 for a fresh upgrade today

Alpha and Agents sum to the 535 Alphas ever minted: promoting an
Alpha to Agent moves it out of the Alpha count rather than adding to it.
